THE PASSION OF A CHILD BAKING
Born Kimberly Janelle Baker, now Kimberly Raybon, has had a passion for baking since she was a young child and not just due to her maiden name either. Having grown up with 9 (8 living) older brothers and sisters, everyone had chores keeping the house clean, washing clothes and helping to make meals. Kimberly always wanted to help with the baking. She grew up watching her mom cook banquet style dinners and desserts to serve her brothers and sisters, her uncles and a host of friends of their family on Sundays and holidays. Kimberly’s mom and her sisters helped cook all the food and they always let Kim help bake the cookies which she loved.
THE ENJOYMENT OF COOKING AND BAKING FOR FAMILY
While Kimberly did not pursue higher education in culinary, she always enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. After having spent many years providing desserts for friends and family for special occasions, Kimberly decided to officially pursue her dream of owning her own bakery. She currently bakes on a part time basis in hopes that she might be able to do it on a full-time basis one day.
THE SPECIAL LOVE INGREDIENT
Baking is absolutely Kimberly’s joy. Kimberly mentioned that her special ingredient is LOVE. It is the main ingredient in all her recipes. It is also the way she gets to share her mother’s love for baking with the world. Before Kimberly’s mom became ill with dementia 10 years ago, Kimberly had hoped she would one day own her own restaurant. Since she never got the opportunity to do so, Kimberly dedicates her own business to her mother. Kimberly’s mom taught her everything she knows and through her business she is grateful to share with all her customers all that her mom taught her.
